Things us Pakistani women end up doing….

So a bit of a rant today – stressed and overloaded with a lot going on.

I found a temporary job for the time being – not sure how stable it would be but whatever – at least it gets the bills paid!

But that in itself raises a good question. Should I be worried about paying bills when I am married?

The answer is NO!

In Islam, the man of the house is responsible for paying bills and raising a family. But on the contrary, a common trend nowadays is for a woman to be taking the burden to do it all outside as well as inside the house! that is absolutely not our role nor responsibility. As women, we are to nurture the generation we are bringing up.

I know, I know, that raises the whole feminism question – why should we be only in the house. Well the answer to that is simple – we should not!

We have the privilege to go about and do whatever we want. Even housework is not a necessity for us and we can ask to be paid for it “religiously”… but we also have a responsibility to raise our kids. Nowadays, you all must have heard the common sentiment that kids absorb whatever they see. We could and should raise strong females where they can be self sufficient, however we also need to instill the maternal instincts in them. When they see us nurture, they will have nurturing personalities. When they see us strong enough to go outside and do our work, they will be confident. When they see us taking care of our spouses, they will be encouraged to find good spouses that will walk step in step with them.

It is a two way street and whatever we give as nourishment to the tiny brains – that’s what they absorb.

So in essence, we have a HUGE responsibility on us. Nothing that men will ever understand unfortunately. It’s the male society that has made them have HUGE egos. They don’t want to learn, educate and earn but yet their EGOS are the size of the planet!

Anyways, off to feed my kids… love and strength to you all out there…

To the sister who reached out regarding finding resources for kids – for sure there are plenty. I am actually planning to start my own YouTube Channel soon with a ton of resources for teens and young adults. Keep an eye out – will share details soon!

much love xoxo

Your Soul Sister 🙂
